When you transfer photos or videos from your cell phone or digital camera, they often have default names like img001, img002 etc. Now if you want to rename all files as you want like Wedding pictures (1), Wedding pictures (2), then renaming each files individually can be very hectic task. So here is the method to rename multiple files simultaneously in series or sequence. 1. Open the folder where you have kept all files and want to rename it. 2. Select the files you want to rename either by dragging mouse or by holding Ctrl. 3. Now right click and select rename. 4. Type the new name, and then press enter.
All of the selected files will be named in sequence using the new name you type. For example, if you type Wedding pictures, the first will be named Wedding pictures and files after it in the series will be named Wedding pictures (1), Wedding pictures (2), and so on. To specify the starting number for the series, type the starting number in parentheses after the new file name. The files in the series will be numbered in sequence starting with the number you type. For example, if you type Wedding pictures (20), the other files will be named Wedding pictures (21), Wedding pictures (22), and so on.
