SEARCH HIDDEN FILES IN WINDOWS XP The Search companion in Windows XP provides an advanced method of searching for hidden and system files which is a lot different than in earlier versions of Windows. I will explain you how to search for system or hidden files in Windows XP. Click Start >> Search >> All files and folders >> More advanced options. Note: For this tip to work you need to configure your windows not to hide protected operating system files to find files with both the hidden and system attributes.
